Driving conditions on the roads today, particularly in city traffic, cause diesel particulate filters to clog more quickly, meaning they have to be replaced early. Faurecia Service offers DPF cleaning solutions with the FilterCleanBox but obviously also new parts (Easy2Fit product line). Alternatively, an original equipment DPF can be remanufactured in our plant, a good thing for the environment or for the purse of your customers!

WHY USE SILICON CARBIDE (SiC) AND NOT CORDIERITE?

Along with reman DPFs, Faurecia offers new Diesel Particulate Filters for all mainstream brands and types of vehicle, with a focus on premium quality and perfect compatibility. For both Original Equipment (OE) and Aftermarket fitting, Faurecia only works with high-quality silicon carbide ceramic, rather than using cordierite, which cannot withstand the same level of heat. Most car manufacturers exclusively use silicon carbide, meaning that their diesel engines (via ECU) are perfectly tailored to the material‘s characteristics. This is why it is crucial to offer SiC DPFs for the aftermarket, guaranteeing the same regeneration conditions as with original equipment. Silicon carbide DPFs also absorb significantly more fine particulates and, unlike cordierite DPFs, they can be cleaned or remanufactured. That higher quality pays off in the original equipment and in spare parts.
